Golf – Russell Anderson wins the A Grade Club Championship with Bill Welsh the runner-up. B Grade went to Lyle Horwood from Bob Dwyer whilst Henry Johnson took out the C Grade title with Bruce Rodway second. Mick Hannelly won the China Plate and Veteran’s.
Rugby League – Gilgandra prepares to host the 2016 Castlereagh League grand finals where the Panthers will b up against the Gulgong Bull Terriers in first grade.
Athletics – Ashdyn Smith, Jace Baker, Olivia Amiet, and Montana Reid represent Gilgandra Public School at the Dubbo District Championships with Ashdyn then selected to represent Western District at the NSW Championships in the 100 and 200 metre events.
Meanwhile Rhys O’Neill, Will Fuller, Bailey Wykes and Aiden Walker, all students from St Joseph’s, will compete in the Polding Athletics Championships to be held in Newcastle.
