GLAMS - Casual Maintenance Worker

Gilgandra Local Aboriginal Medical Service (GLAMS) is seeking an enthusiastic person to fill the position of Maintenance Worker.

The Maintenance Worker will actively support the staff at GLAMS and private

residences. The successful applicant will be responsible for general maintenance services including minor building repairs and cleaning in line with GLAMS’ Company Policies.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Experience working as garden and maintenance worker.

• Excellent verbal communications skills and punctuality.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Excellent organisational skills.

• Excellent negotiation skills.

• Well organised with multi-tasking skills.

• Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

• Problem solving ability.

• Culturally responsive.

• Current NSW Driver’s License.

• Current NSW Working With Children Check.

• Current National Criminal History Check.

Additional Factors:

• Proof of vaccination must be provided upon commencement.

• Current first aid and CPR certificates.

Remuneration: will be based on qualifications and experience.

GLAMS - Miyagan Empowerment Advocate

Gilgandra Local Aboriginal Medical Service (GLAMS) is seeking are seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to fill the position of Miyagan Empowerment Advocate.

This position will actively work with the local Aboriginal community and relevant government and non-government agencies to reduce the incidences and prevalence of domestic and family violence.

Note: This is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identified Position authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW

The Miyagan Empowerment Advocate will report to the Practice Manager.

Essential:

• Must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (N.B. An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW); (Proof in writing of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent has been passed by a resolution at a Board meeting by an Aboriginal Incorporated Organisation will be required).

• Experience working with and for Aboriginal communities.

• Knowledge of working within violence prevention frameworks.

• Experience in collecting and collating data.

• Knowledge and understanding of the impact of domestic and family violence.

• Current Criminal History Check.

• Current NSW Working with Children’s Check.

• Possession of a current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence valid in NSW is required.

Additional Factors:

• Certificate IV in Aboriginal Domestic Family Violence Prevention Work or willing to working towards obtaining qualification.

• Proof of vaccination must be provided upon acceptance of appointment.

• Current first aid and CPR certificate.

Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
