Storytime

Last week at Storytime, we enjoyed a funny story titled “Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit” by Lorna Scobie.

We heard how a single bunny was horrified to have to learn to share all of his things, when his new siblings arrived; only to find that worse things could happen!

Lots of action, singing, bubbles and throwing scarves into the air made for a very enjoyable morning all round.

Storytime will be back next week, and we will be reading “We’re going on a present hunt” by Goldie Hawk and Angie Rozelaar.

Little STEAM

Little STEAM returned last week with a fun session which combined multiple elements of STEAM; using our imaginations we built towers, saved people from tall buildings, created a zoo and used puppets to be the animals, named all the colours of the rainbow and found them in our buildings, and counted all the blocks and people.

Point Blank Writers’ Group

At Point Blank Writers’ Group last Saturday, we continued our workshop on memories, sharing stories about memories associated with music, and then working on timelines and memories of school years. This led to many interesting stories. We decided to gather for a Christmas lunch for our next meeting, and to bring along more pieces sparked by memories or Christmas memories. All welcome.

Friday Arts and Crafts this week

Our Friday Arts and Crafts session returns this week! Adults of all ages are invited to enjoy a relaxed and social morning of creativity. Bring your morning tea and a friend - or come on your own and meet new people - while making a simple craft to take home. Free of charge.

Revenue NSW Visit

Janaya Carney, outreach officer from Revenue NSW will be visiting the GIL Library Hub next week, to help community members who are facing fines and debts. Outreach officers can help people with fines and debt to work out ways to get back on track, lifting licence suspensions, reducing or disputing a fine, setting up a payment plan, or doing a course or volunteer work to pay off a fine.

All members of the public are welcome to call in while Janaya is here, to see how Revenue NSW can help. Morning tea will be provided, free of charge.

Service NSW Savings Finder

Would you like some help to find savings? Next week, Lisa from Service NSW is coming to the GIL Library Hub to show us how to save money through a range of little-known vouchers and rebates. Lisa will give one-on-one help to people to register for these various savings. All are welcome to call in to see Lisa, and morning tea will be provided, free of charge.

Friday Flicks Next Week

Join us at the GIL Library Hub next week for a free film screening on the big screen! Twice a month, we feature a recently released, well-reviewed film suitable for adults, rated G or PG. Bring along your favourite snacks, or stop by one of Gilgandra’s great cafés for a coffee and treat to enjoy during the movie.
