The variety of activities at Gilgandra showground attracted a large crowd, keen to see who nabbed the prizes in the pavilion entries, and get their annual fix of carnival rides and Dagwood Dogs.

As always, the side shows were popular, and a variety of stall holders lined the market alleys.

Georgia Briggs was named as the 2025 Gilgandra Young Woman, in local section of The Land Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman Competition.

Georgia got the opportunity to learn from 2024 Gilgandra Young Woman, Tahlee Rose Duffy, and 2025 The Land Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman, Cassandra Bush (Cootamundra), and runner-up, Dubbo’s Sophie Cargill.

Gilgandra Show secretary, Iain Thurlow said the gate attendance was great for the main day of the show.

“We had over 2300 through the gate on the Saturday - which is a few hundred up on last year,” he said

The show stewards were also happy with the number of entries in the various pavilions.

The event finished off with a few ‘bangs’ as the night sky was lit up by the fireworks display.
