Upcoming road traffic impacts between Port of Newcastle to Central West Orana area
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions and possible cumulative delays from today across the State road network between the Port of Newcastle to the Central West area.
There are a number of road maintenance activities and projects underway along various State roads including the Pacific, New England, Golden and Castlereagh highways.
These corridors are regularly used by a range of oversize and/or overmass (OSOM) vehicles servicing industries across the region.
In addition to these existing movements, several OSOM deliveries travel from the Port of Newcastle to the Uungula Wind Farm six days a week. The wind farm proponent’s delivery schedule can be found here UWF OSOM delivery schedule | Squadron Energy.
While Transport makes every effort to minimise impacts to motorists, the traffic changes needed to safely build these projects and maintain the road network may cause unavoidable cumulative traffic delays.

Mobile heavy patching work between Jerry’s Plains and Denman. This type of work is constantly moving, so we use mobile traffic management convoys to control traffic. This will be day work, carried out Monday to Friday.
