Two dead after three-vehicle crash closes Newell Highway south of Gilgandra
The Newell Highway remains closed after a fatal crash last night
Two people have died in a crash involving a car and two B-doubles overnight.
Emergency services were called to the Newell Highway at Eumungerie, at about 10pm (Tuesday, November 3, 2026), and found a northbound sedan and a southbound B-double had collided; the sedan was then struck by a second B-Double, also travelling north.
A man and woman travelling in the sedan died at the scene.
The drivers of the two heavy vehicles escaped injury and have been taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for mandatory testing.
The Newell Highway remains closed while the scene is examined and the wreckage cleared.
The identities of those involved are yet to be established as inquiries continue.
