Time to eat! (and be merry)
As school has now finished and all attention is turned towards Christmas Day, spare a thought for Gilgandra’s hard working local butchers!

Both Diggs Butchery in Miller Street, and Johnson’s Gourmet Butchery on Warren Road, have a very busy time during December helping families prepare for their perfect Christmas Day.
Hams, turkeys, and seafood are popular Christmas items along with all the normal meat cuts needed when more family members are around for the holiday weeks.
Stephen Diggs said they sold around 130kgs of prawns last Christmas and are expecting similar numbers this year.
Lindsay Foster at Johnson’s said they were expecting to sell about 100 hams and about 100kgs in prawns for Christmas this year.
Both businesses are still taking Christmas orders and are open early this week for last minute purchases.
