The GIL Library Hub's Sound Studio Put to Use
Who needs Hollywood - when you have Pro Tools, a PC and the Arturia KeyLab 88 MK II

A local Sound and Video Editing Studio is gathering momentum as community library members begin to investigate the fantastic facilities and possibilities available within our local community, all housed within the GIL Library Hub.
Local musician Janet Cheal was the first to put the new Arturia KeyLab 88 MK II - a touch-sensitive, fully weighted 88 key MIDI keyboard controller- to the test. This keyboard interfaces with both Mac (Logic Pro) and Windows PC (Pro Tools) operating systems.
Janet's recording of Scott Joplin’s 'The Entertainer' utilised the industry standard software Pro Tools. During the session, Janet explored the huge range of digital instruments available within the software - from heavy metal and brass to strings, harp, cathedral organ, voice and grand piano.
Curious? Make an inquiry, book a FREE introductory studio session, via the library’s circulation desk. Pop in and ask one of our friendly staff to show you the Studio and its range of facilities - all within the ”inner heart” of the GIL Library Hub space.
