Now this could be a bit confusing but as far as me and Me Mate know a young cockatoo is called a chick, but in this instance a whole lot of young cockatoos were called colts and one of those young (if you classify being aged under twenty as being young) cockatoo colts was actually a Galah!

Stay with me here and I will try to explain how a young Galah can be a Cockatoo Colt!

It’s simple really.

Isaac Grimshaw, who plays his rugby union with the Gulargambone Galahs was a member of the NSW Country Cockatoos Colts (Under 20) side that recently played in the Australian Rugby Shield championships held at Newcastle

So, by my reckoning Isaac is a Galah Cockatoo Colt, which is some sort of achievement!

The Cockatoo Colts side had a 22 to 17 win over the Queensland Suburban side, a 22 all draw with the NSW Suburban team and narrow 15 to 10 loss to Queensland Country so all in all they were very well performed.

The Western Plains Outlaws are a representative junior and senior cricket club based in Dubbo, New South Wales, drawing players from the Macquarie Valley and Lachlan regions for competitions like the Country Youth Championships and the Western Zone Tremain-Copeland Cup.

The Outlaws have representative teams that compete across age groups including U13, U14, U15, U16, U18, and Opens.

Mitchell joins players from Cowra, Parkes, Forbes, Wellington, Narromine, Condobolin and Dubbo in being selected for the Under 14s Outlaws team!

The Castlereagh Cougars women’s rugby league teams finished their competition matches on Sunday (October 18) when they travelled to Bathurst to play the Panorama Platypi.

Unfortunately, the results did not go their way, but Gil Pink Panther’s Kiara Brown did score a try and kick a goal in the opens.

The Under 14s will play Lachlan in a semi final this weekend whilst the opens are also in the semi-finals.
