What was happening in local sport this time last year
Cricket – Gilgandra High School’s junior cricket team remained undefeated after they recorded two wins in the T20 competition played at Mudgee with Kenny Johnson, Alex Sutherland, Samual Henry and Michael Roach standing out.
Swimming – a number of Gilgandra Amateur Swimming Club members record personal bests when competing at the Coonamble Swimming Carnival. They were Kelsey Hutchison, Olivia and James Ferguson and Bradley and James Kildey.
Gilgandra Junior Rugby League and netball – at the Gilgandra Junior Rugby League annual general meeting, Tony Wilson was elected as president, Mick Burdon secretary, Darren Jackson treasurer, Jason Ritchie rugby league vice-president, Bonnie Tink and Megan Burdon as registrars, and Alisa Eason the netball coordinator.
Golf – at the Gilgandra Golf Club AGM, Russell Anderson was re-elected as president with Stan Doyle the vice-president, Gladys Harvey secretary, and Geoff Lummis the club captain with Bruce Rodway the treasurer. Board members were Michael Wilson, Shiralee Bone, Michael Johnson, Ian Ferguson, Rob Hay, and Frans Coetzee.
