Skateboarding – Ownlife, a skate education group conduct a free workshop in Gilgandra which attracts a good number of participants.

Eumungerie Sports Clubhouse – a concrete slab is laid for a sports clubhouse at the Eumungerie Recreation Reserve.

Bowls – Gilgandra Women’s Bowling Club celebrates it 60th anniversary with teams coming from Dubbo, Peak Hill, Wellington, Trangie, Coonamble, Narromine, Tottenham, Grafton and Coonabarabran to join in the festivities. During the day Barb Garbutt is presented with a merit award from NSWLBA for her contribution to the Gilgandra club

Bowls – Coonamble defeat Gilgandra in a very competitive Grade Five Pennats game.

Endurance Riding – Sonia Bonham claims first place in the 80-kilometre endurance ride staged at Tooraweenah. Thirty riders competed in the ride.

Rugby League – Gilgandra gets set to host the Western Rams Divisional trials.

Swimming Club – the incoming executive and committee for the 2016/17 season was Katherine Gaff (president), Gary Kildey (vice-president), Melanie Ferguson (secretary/publicity), Claudina Ryan (treasurer), Stacey O’Neill (point score secretary), Melissa Welsh (registrar) and Meredith Schier (carnival secretary).
