Sailor Ryan a finalist in the Regional Academies of Sports' Indigenous Athlete of the Year Award
Ryan was one of the 10 nominees in the category.
The Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) celebrated the outstanding achievements of athletes, coaches and alumni from across regional NSW at the 2026 Your Local Club Regional Academy Awards on Tuesday, February 24, at the Wenty Leagues Club, Wentworthville.
This was a stellar occasion with young athletes from across the state attending being nominated by their respective academies, of which there are 11, in a variety of different award categories.
One of those categories was the Indigenous Athlete of the Year was well known local rugby league player, Sailor Ryan, who was one of the 10 nominees in that category.
Whilst he did not take out the major award, just being a finalist in such a hotly contested category is an accomplishment in itself!
No doubt you will be hearing more about this young sportsperson in the years to come!
