Wednesday’s Social Bowls

Wednesday, September 3, had 10 starters for social bowls.

The winners with the most ends and a win were Bob Rogers and Bruce Parker who defeated Mike Newstead and Mick, 25-8.

In the remaining game, the win went to Steve, Ed Wlodarczyk, and Garry Garbutt in defeating Wilbur Batten, Larry Clark, and Jayden Doran, 15-14.

Sunday’s Social Bowls

Sunday social bowls on September 7 resulted in a win to Mike Newstead, Norm Lummis, and Danial Riley who defeated Bruce Parker, Tracey Riley, and Dylan Marchant, 22-10. Mal Altmann and Wenden Riley defeated Bob Rogers and Gil Riley, 20-10.

Singles Championships

On the championship scene in A-grade singles, Noel Raines defeated David Duffy, 25-17, while Brent McKenzie gained the win against Shaun Marchant, 25-8.

One consolation for Shauny Boy was his mighty sharks had a good win against a pretty ordinary effort by the Bulldogs on Saturday night.

In the B-grade singles David Duffy defeated Bayden Fisher, 25-11. The ‘comeback kid’ Peter Cook had a very close win against Kayleb Dalton, 25-24.

Peter has made a comeback to bowls after a lengthy spell while Kayleb is a bit of a newcomer to championship bowls so this was a great game of bowls by these two lads.
