Gilgandra and District Cancer Fundraisers have received a $25,000 donation from the John Farragher (OAM) Foundation. The donation was presented in front of the huge crowd for the Penrith Panthers v West Tigers last season game on Sunday, September 6 at Commbank Stadium Parramatta.

President of the Gilgandra and District Cancer Fundraisers was in attendance at the game to accept the cheque from the late John 'Pug' Farragher's charitable foundation.

For the Sunday game and ultimately their 2026 minor premiership win, the Panthers played in special jerseys honouring the club legend, with the number 149 on the chest, inspired by the 1978 uniform wore by Pug in his last game for the Panthers.

Gilgandra Panthers first grade team recently wore the same designed jerseys for their Old Boy's Day match in July 2026.
