BEST OF 2024: Preschool award nominations
Gilgandra Preschool was nominated for awards in 16 categories at the 2024 NSW Excellence in Early Childhood Education Awards.

This is an outstanding achievement for any early childhood education centre, even more so for a rurally-based one. Gilgandra Preschool has previously been nominated in 2019, 2022, and 2023. So far, they have received eight awards, competing against both other rural centres and larger metropolitan ones for the awards.
Categories Gilgandra Preschool have been nominated for in 2024 include Small Community Regional and Rural Service, Excellence in Educational Program and Practice, Excellence in Partnerships with Families, Excellence in Community Involvement, Excellence in Inclusivity Practices, Excellence in Children’s Wellbeing and Health, Excellence in Multicultural Program, Excellence in Australian History and Culture, Team Excellence Award for Regional/Rural Service, Employer Excellence Award, the Outcomes for Children (Preschool) Award, and Small Regional/Rural Business Excellence Award.
Four individual staff members have been nominated for their own awards including Montana Simms for the Female Educator Excellence Award, Kristy Hyndes for the Educational Leader Excellence Award, Hannah Harland for the Young Female Educator Excellence Award, and Amber Bunter for the Service Support Person Excellence Award.
