Pony Club needs new volunteers to survive
Ahead of an upcoming AGM the Gilgandra Pony Club Incorporated is seeking community support.

Fighting a battle most sports organisations in small towns can relate too, the Gilgandra Pony Club Incorporated (Pony Club INC) has sent an impassioned plea to gauge community interest to keep the club open.
A spokesperson for the pony club told The Gilgandra Weekly that the club needs volunteers to continue to operate.
“We are asking the Gilgandra community if there is interest in keeping the Gilgandra Pony Club INC open,” they said. “We are asking if there is some interest in becoming a committee member or instructor and helping the club stay open. We are also looking for people to help run and be on the committee of the club to keep it open.
“We are interested to see if there are people willing to help with rallies and meetings.”
Pony club can also cater for diverse age groups, they said. “Pony club is now open to adults and children to ride and we can have more activities if there are more members riding. We have good facilities and equipment for riders to participate in many activities, if we have some members to help.
“If we have to close the club it will take a lot to get it open again. Please get in touch with Mary Markey or Jeffrey Markey or see the advertisement for the annual general meeting, and let us know with your interest.”
