You might remember a few months ago I wrote about Wrexham FC and their crazy mission to do something no other club has done in the modern Premier League era, that is to win three promotions in a row. Well, guess what? THEY DID IT.

Wrexham, the team owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, just got promoted to the championship, which is only one step below the Premier League.

That means if they do it one more time, they’ll be playing with the big guns like Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City! Not bad for a team that just a few years ago wasn’t even in the football league.

Wrexham fans are going wild, and fair enough. I think the owners might be reading my article as Wrexham has just announced they will visit Australia for a series of warm up match before their season starts later in the year. But that’s not the only big news...Tottenham Hotspur, that’s Aussie Ange Postecoglou’s team, have made it to the Europa League Final, and they’ll face the mighty Manchester United.

Ange or as we Aussies like to call him: ‘Big Ange’, is the first ever Australian manager to take a team into a major European final. How awesome is that!

Tottenham and Manchester United have had bad seasons in the EPL but for Spurs, a win might just save Ange’s job, and I think if it does, next year they will be much better. He wins everywhere he goes.

So yeah, this week in football is kind of epic, Wrexham’s wild ride continues, and they are coming to Australia and Ange is flying the Aussie flag in Europe. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
