NRLW Is back

The NSW Blues smashed Queensland 32–12, and now everyone’s wondering, can the Blues win all three games this year? Last year Queensland won the series, but this time the Blues are off to a flying start.

And guess what’s coming soon? The NRLW season kicks off on July 3 and I can’t wait.

There are 12 teams in the NRLW, and the league is slowly growing to make sure there are enough elite players to keep the competition strong.

Women’s rugby league has come a long way since the NRLW kicked off, but there are still only about half as many registered female players as male players.

But with how fast the women’s game is growing, it won’t be long before the numbers are equal.

How awesome will that be, double the footy on TV! This season has 66 games, and 33 of them are double headers, which means you get to watch two games on the same day. Pretty cool, right?

Since there aren’t as many teams as the NRL, the finals are a bit different. Only four teams make it into the finals, and then the top two battle it out in the Grand Final to see who’s the champion.

The big question is, can the Roosters defend their title and go back-to-back in 2025?

There are some strong teams this year, so it’s going to be a wild ride!

FUN FACT: The NRLW has something called the 40/30 kick. If a player kicks the ball from inside their own 40-metre line and it lands in the other team’s 30, they get the ball back.

It’s kind of like the NRL’s 40/20 rule. Plus, NRLW players are allowed more interchanges during a game than the NRL, which means more fresh legs on the field.

So, get ready for big hits, amazing tries, and epic battles. The NRLW is back, and it’s going to be awesome!
