No stopping Dodge the Dark at Warren

Three was no stopping Wendy Peel and the five-year-gelding Dodge The Dark as they chased down the leaders on Tuesday, July 21 at the Warren TAB meeting.
Nyngan-based Wendy Peel holds a dual licence and she was the trainer of, and jockey for, Dodge The Dark which took on a 13 horse field in the 1400 metres Simmental-Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap.
Owned by Mark Ward from Condobolin and David Simmons from Trundle, Dodge The Dark ($14) was last approaching the home turn and when making a run on the outside was ridden with tremendous vigour by Wendy Peel to arrive in time and win by a short neck from Damascus Gate (Jordie Thompson, $4.40) and Casterly Rock (Izzy Neale, $18).
A strong finishing second to Panelli at Dubbo was good form going in to the 1400 metres Cattleyard Maiden Plate and the well named Nothing Finer (from Elisa Carolina) started the $2.70 favourite.
Ridden by Clayton Gallagher for the O’Brien family from Binnaway, Tim Moses and Dubbo trainer Cindy Monaghan, Nothing Finer ($2.70 favourite) swept to the lead in the straight and won by almost two lengths from Regalade (Izzy Neale, $3.60) which ran on well and Litlfela (Donovan Dillon, $15).
First leg of a double for Cowra jockey Mathew Cahill was the Brett Robb trained Marinera ($1.40 to $1.30 favourite) which worked hard to get the better of Badgers Bridge (Kody Nestor, $26) and Mega Pixel (Gabrielle Johnston, $8) in the 1000 metres Angus and Poll Hereford Maiden Plate.
Mathew Cahill then brought the Richard Jackson owned and Kylie Kennedy, Narromine trained Tropic ($10), from the tail of the field to win the 1000 metres Charolais Class One Handicap from Wellspring (Billy Cray, $9) and Panta Rhei (Izzy Neale, $2.05 favourite).
Muswellbrook trainer Tim McIntosh and jockey Donovan Dillon also combined for a winning double with Time To Commit ($16) and Ivy Diva ($7 to $3.90 favourite), both horses coming with late runs.
Boncapo ($2.30 to $2.05 favourite) well ridden by talented apprentice Jacob Stiff for Dubbo trainer Michael Mulholland is a promising type and charged home from off the pace to win running away from Fierce Luva (Izzy Neale, $3.50) and Northern Exposure (Zoe Hunter, $13) in the 1600 metres Bogan Red Class One and Maiden Plate.
