The committee has been voted in and consists of the ever-youthful and vibrant president Benn Jenkin. Vice-presidents are Zac Mills and Mark ‘Funky’ Walker.

The diligent and hard-working Makaila Gordon returns as the club secretary. In a new role as treasurer, as well as taking her nuptials on the weekend, is Issi Roche (nee Horne).

The executive committee has behind them a hard-working and always willing to help out band of committee members.

Coaches for the year have also been settled. Justin Harvey takes over the role as men’s coach, while Greg King takes over the reins of the infamous Flamin’ Galahs.

Captains for this year will be in the men’s, the war horse Jack Bradley.

Along with the ever-reliable Makaila Gordon, taking on her second consecutive year as captain of the Flamin’ Galahs. The squad has been hard at pre-season training since early January. The commitment and numbers at training have been outstanding.

The hard work will soon pay off as the men’s team this week begins their season with the annual Warren Gala Day on Saturday.

This is a round robin format tournament that allows the players to see where they are at with other teams.

Some of the Flamin’ Galahs ladies will also be represented this weekend when the Western Plains ladies nominate two teams in the gala day in a ten-aside tackle format round robin.

The Flamin’ Galahs will begin their season with a tri-tag rugby trial against the Coonamble ladies the following weekend in Gulargambone.

The countdown to the start of the official season is fast approaching.

Round one is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 when Gular take on Bourke/Brewarrina at Gulargambone.
