For its second year running, in support of Wings4Kidz, the Never Late Fe-mail Postie Bike Ride fundraiser will be held across regional NSW. This year, 67 ladies will ride post bikes through regional NSW in support of the charity. The riders will arrive in Gilgandra on April 4 for a ‘Pink and Glitter Night’ event at the Gilgandra Services Club.

Wings4Kidz is a registered charity that provides a free regional flight service to aid families needing to travel long distances seeking specialised treatment for children suffering from medical conditions. “[We aim to] lessen the significant burden and effect of long distance travel for these children and families,” states Wings4Kidz. “Long journeys by car for several hours a day, sometimes on a weekly basis, is not only stressful for the parents, but also detrimental for the children physically and emotionally. Replacing this with a comfortable one hour flight reduces financial stress, is safe, and less fatiguing. Sometimes the kids really look forward to it.” According to Wings4Kidz, all public donations go directly to funding flights, with no administration fees or wages to split money between.

Garry Rogers, the Never Late Bike Ride event organizer, stresses the importance of a charity like Wings4Kidz for regional Australians, especially those furthest from cities. “This year we will have 67 ladies riding postie bikes through regional NSW to raise much needed funds for this wonderful charity,” he said. Last year, the Never Late Bike Ride raised an “astonishing amount” of $200,000. “I am appealing to [Gilgandra] for any assistance that they could offer,” Mr Rogers said.

The Gilgandra Services Club will be host to the ‘Pink and Glitter’ event in support of the fundraisers: two local families will be in attendance as guests, giving the riders an opportunity to meet those that funds go towards supporting directly.
