Junior League and Netball
Junior League and Netball last Saturday (June 29) in both Dubbo and Dunedoo.

A nice frosty start to Junior League and Netball last Saturday (June 29) in both Dubbo and Dunedoo saw the kids get stuck into the last round before a break for school holidays.
Gilgandra’s under nine netballers had a bye and no doubt were pleased they didn’t have to venture out too early.
The U11 girls played Warren Wildflowers. U12s were up against St Strikers who took the win and our U14s played St Wildcats earning themselves a victory and third outright on the ladder!
The footballers all headed to Dunedoo with some pretty impressive footy on display. The Panthers of the Week for the mighty under-eights were Tiggy Dixon, Alex Moeris, and Bill Pagen all putting in a fantastic effort.
The U10s had two tough games with Liam Cosier and London Bennett picking up Panther of the Week.
The U12s had a hard-fought victory over Dunedoo/Coolah.
Missing quite a few players this week, it was a great opportunity for the kids to play longer game time than normally required and they all did themselves, their families, and Gilgandra very proud.
The final score was 30-24 and if it wasn’t for a great defensive performance in the first half by the Panthers we could have easily gone down. A couple of standouts were Joey Lamb for his great service out of dummy half and a couple of try-saving tackles and Jack Eason who took the ball up strong every time putting us on the front foot along with his tireless work in defence all day.
The U14s went out and played their hearts out. An injury to one of our own cut the game short however the Panthers were convincingly leading the game 48-4 and the game was abandoned. Ezekiel Peckham was this week’s Panther of the Week.
No training this week (unless your coach said otherwise) as we break for the school holidays.
Training will resume Thursday, July 25 in preparation for our Indigenous Round.
