Congratulations to the Rustic Burrow Trading Co. and Gilgandra Sporties for their successful submissions, and contribution to a vibrant event calendar in the Gilgandra Region.

Following the first two funding rounds, the program will now transition to an open rolling application model until all available funds are fully allocated. Council encourages anyone considering hosting an event in 2026 to submit their application as early as possible. Applications are competitive, and once funding is exhausted, no further allocations will be available.

Importantly, a portion of funding has been set aside specifically to support events and activations delivered across the Goin’ to Gil Festival Weekend from September 25–27, 2026. Council encourages local businesses, community groups and clubs to take advantage of this funding by delivering activities in Gilgandra, Armatree, and Tooraweenah, helping to draw visitors across the Shire and ensuring the benefits of Goin’ to Gil are felt beyond the Gilgandra township.

Successful applicants or 2025/26 include:

• Gilgandra Sporties – Windmills Triples Bowls Tournament 2026

• Rustic Burrow Trading Co. – Gather in Gil 2026

• Gilgandra Film Festival – 2026 Gilgandra Film Festival

• Tooraweenah Property and Livestock – Livestock Producer Day

• Gilgandra Speedway – Thunder on the Plains – completed

• Tooraweenah PA&H Association – 2025 Tooraweenah Show – completed

The It’s GREAT program is brought to you by Gilgandra Shire Council and has been established to assist with investment into events in the Gilgandra Region, with funding available for local businesses, community groups and clubs. This program is also supported by the Microgrants component of the NSW Government Open Streets Program, Streets of Colour at Goin' to Gil.
