Veterans

Thursday, April 2 the Veterans played a nine-hole Stroke with 16 players taking part. The winner was Bob Dwyer with 33 1/2 nett. Geoff Lummis came in second with 34 1/2 nett. Gil Riley came third on a countback from Lex Scotti. Andy Harris won the nearest the pin. Average ball went to Ed Wlodarczyk. Least amount of putts went to Graeme Holland with 12 putts for his round.

25th Anniversary of the Martin Clift Memorial

On Good Friday (April 3) we had the best ever field for the Martin Clift Memorial, with 28 teams taking part. Which equates to 114 golfers on the day. The winning team was Lyle Horwood, Luke Johnston, Ken Williams, and Bill Welsh with a 54 1/4 nett.

Second place went to Nick White, Mark Barwick, Randall Medd, and Jason Carter with 55 nett.

Third place was won by Scott Basham, Ayrton Holland, Clinton Thurlow, and Adam Thurlow with 55 1/4 nett.

Fourth place went to the Wright Family - Nick, Rob, Dylan, and Kobi with 55 3/4 nett.

Fifth place went to Adam Hazleton, Mark Temple, Jarryd Eason, and Ash Hazleton with 56 3/4 nett.

Nearest the pin: 2/11 - Michael O'Rourke; 4/13 - Bill Welsh; 7/16 - B Wykes.

We hope to see the same number of players for next year's memorial day. We would like to thank the Clift Family and their loyal band of supporters from the Central Coast for another great day at Gilgandra Golf Club.

April Monthly Medal

On Saturday, April 4, we played the Garry Johnston Memorial Monthly Medal in conjunction with the Albert Milgate matchplay qualifying. We had a great field of 29 players take part in an 18-hole Stroke.

The Monthly Medalist for April is Todd Meyers with 64 nett. Gil Riley came in second with 66 nett. Third place went to Dean Ferguson with 67 nett. Fourth went to Stan Doyle on a countback from Mark Hinchcliffe and Allan Lummis; all three golfers had 68 nett.

Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin: 2/11 - Allan Lummis; 4/13 - Russell Anderson; 7/16 - Gil Riley.

Matchplay result: Todd Meyers nine and seven defeated Bob Dwyer.

Albert Milgate Qualifiers are: Todd Meyers, Gil Riley, Dean Ferguson, Stan Doyle, Mark Hinchcliffe, Russell Anderson, Warwick Cross, Marty Cross, Ash Hazleton, Lex Scotti, Bill Welsh, Ike Morris, Nick Wright, Ian Ferguson, and Andy Harris.

Sunday, April 5

We had a very small field contest at an 18-hole Stableford. The winner was club captain Geoff Lummis with 36 points.

Monday, April 6

We had 16 golfers play an 18-hole Par. The winner was Jim Zell with +3. Rob Hay came in second on a countback from Russell Anderson, both players had -1. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Graeme Holland.

Matchplay result: Nick White three and one defeated Lyle Horwood.
