Gulargambone Rugby receives $10,000 local sports grant

Five groups in the Barwon electorate have won funding from the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program

Sporting clubs across the Barwon electorate are benefiting from NSW government investment through the Local Sport Grant Program, helping drive participation and improve local facilities.

Community sporting clubs across the vast Barwon electorate are receiving vital support through the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.

Grants up to $20,000 were available, with $50,000 available in each electorate, with successful Barwon electorate projects including:

  • Walgett Rugby Union Club – $16,027 for a new scrum machine

  • Gulargambone Rugby Club – $10,530 for skills and participation programs

  • Narrabri Dolphins Water Polo Club – $3,233 to grow junior participation

  • Coonamble Clay Target Club – $3,232 for accessible facilities

  • Burcher Golf and Sports Club – $13,743 for upgrades

Stephen Lawrence MLC said the funding is critical for regional NSW.

"In large electorates like Barwon, these investments are essential to ensuring communities have access to quality sporting opportunities. This funding supports inclusion, participation and community wellbeing right across the region.”
