Great weekend of junior football and netball

Under 10 Netball

The U10s girls’ team celebrated a major milestone over the weekend, claiming their first victory of the season with a 14–4 triumph over the Nyngan Tigers. With strong defensive plays and well-executed attacks, the girls demonstrated great improvement and spirit, signalling a promising turn in their season.

A special congratulations goes to Harper Wykes, who was named Panther of the Week for her outstanding contribution. Well done, Harper!

Under 12 Netball

The U12 Pink Panthers delivered a spirited performance over the weekend, taking on the top-of-the-table Nyngan Tigers in a closely contested match. Despite going up against tough competition, the Pink Panthers showed remarkable determination and skill, keeping the pressure on throughout all four quarters. The final score saw them narrowly edged out, 21–18, in a game that highlighted their growth, teamwork, and fighting spirit.

Under Six Football

The under six superstars hit the field with big smiles and even bigger energy over the weekend as they took on the Gulgong Terriers.

These little legends are learning more every week, showing off their growing skills while having an absolute blast. With plenty of running, try-scoring, and high-fives all around, it was another fun-filled game for the young team. Well done to all the players for their effort and enthusiasm!

Under Eight Football

The under eight Panthers put on another stellar performance over the weekend, securing a dominant 40–16 win in their latest match. With the opposing Gulgong team short on players, Panther Clark Baker stepped up to play for the opposition, In recognition of his effort, attitude, and willingness to support the spirit of the game, Clark was named Panther of the Day. Well done to the whole team for another great game.

Under 10 Football

The U10 Panthers faced a challenging test over the weekend, taking on a well-drilled Gulgong Terriers side in two back-to-back matches.

The first game saw the Terriers take control early, using sharp, quick plays that kept the Panthers on the defensive. Despite the pressure, the young Panthers refused to give in, showing determination and heart as they battled through every minute. Learning from their first match, the Panthers returned to the field for the second game with renewed focus and energy. Improved organisation and teamwork led to several promising plays, including some exciting moments near the try line. For their outstanding efforts and commitment in both games, Samuel Lawrence and Jaxen Altus are Panthers of the Week.

Under 12 Football

It was another exciting weekend of footy as the U12 Panthers faced off against the Gulgong Terriers, giving their home crowd plenty to cheer about.

Following a couple of tough losses last week, the Panthers showed resilience and determination, bouncing back with a much-improved performance. Their defence was a standout, paving the way for some outstanding attacking plays throughout the game. The team’s hard work and progress were evident from the opening whistle, with every player contributing to the win. This week’s Panthers of the Week were Tison Swan Leone and Layla Walker, each recognised for their excellent effort and impact on the field.

Under 14 Football

The U14 Panthers delivered a powerhouse performance over the weekend, overwhelming the Gulgong side with a 70–0 victory that saw the mercy rule called in the second half.

The Panthers were in control, displaying sharp attack, solid defence, and exceptional teamwork. Despite the dominant scoreline, the boys maintained excellent sportsmanship throughout the match - a true credit to their character. A standout moment came late in the game when Caine Bugmy put teammate Ryan Byrne over the line for the final try of the day, sending the crowd into loud applause and cheers.

While many players impressed, it was Lukas Bamblett who was named Panther of the Week following a terrific all-round performance.

Under 16 Football

Gilgandra faced off against a determined Gulgong side over the weekend and came away with an impressive 40–4 victory in what was a tough, physical encounter.

While the scoreline suggests a dominant performance, the match was far from one-sided. Gulgong brought intensity and pressure, especially near the Panthers’ goal line, but it was Gilgandra’s defence that made the real difference.

The team stood strong, repelling multiple attacking sets. A strong team effort and a well-earned result - up the mighty Panthers! Training will continue as normal this week as we head into a rest over the long weekend.
