Gil's rep season brewing nicely
Gilgandra has jumped into second place on the Brewery Shield table without having to play.
Gilgandra has quietly moved into second place in this season’s Brewery Shield representative cricket competition.
The Gilgandra District Cricket Association (GDCA) had a round one win via forfeit against Cobar on Sunday, October 25, before the scheduled round two match against Narromine on Sunday, October 1 was washed-out.
After a bye on November 15 for round three, the GDCA will finish the regular season with matches in Dubbo against Dubbo (November 22) and the Macquarie Valley Masters (November 29). The Macquarie Valley Masters are impressing as the newcomers in the competition.
Boasting a number of experienced representative players, the Masters have defeated Dubbo in round one and Cobar in round two.
Macquarie Valley Masters (9-127) chased down Dubbo’s 126 in round one, before winning again batting second, scoring 6-132 in round two to overhaul Cobar’s 131.
Brewery Shield ladder after round two (as on Play HQ): Macquarie Valley Masters 12, Gilgandra 10, Narromine 4, Cobar 2, Dubbo 2.
