Gilgandra Red Cross Notes
Members have held two meetings this year, the first being at the treasurer’s home in February and the second at Robyn Harris’ home in March.

These were happy occasions where we caught up following a break over the Christmas/New Year period.
As we held a very successful raffle late last year our branch has been able to send $1000 to Red Cross Calling.
These funds go towards the cost of volunteers and staff attending disasters, such as bushfires and more recently, Cyclone Alfred in Queensland and NSW.
Support is offered in many ways, providing evacuation centres and outreach services to support people and communities to recover and regain a sense of stability.
At our March meeting we sent a further $500 to assist with this essential work.
A number of members, ‘finished off’ under the tuition of Nan Nalder (who has been a Red Cross member for almost 67 years), Trauma Teddies which were donated to our branch.
These little bears have now been distributed around town to emergency services and preschools and are very popular.
Many changes are currently underway in Australian Red Cross.
Our small number of members look forward to supporting and being supported by the community in 2025.
