Gilgandra PROBUS Club Changeover Luncheon
The Gilgandra PROBUS Club held their annual Changeover Luncheon at the Gilgandra Services Club
On Thursday, March 14, the Gilgandra PROBUS Club held their annual Changeover Luncheon at the Gilgandra Services Club, featuring the induction of office bearers. The following positions for 2024 are: president Pat Thompson; vice-president Brenda Walker; secretary Anne Smith; treasurer Elaine Gilmour; tour director and welfare officer Denise Quealy; publicity officer Margaret Schier; newsletter editor Helen Ferguson; guest speaker coordinator Margaret Zell. New members for 2024 are: Jenny Thomas, Karen McBurnie, and Margaret Peart - were all presented with their badges.
The internal directors for the door are Margaret Robins, Nan Nalder, and Nancy Semmler. Morning teas are Carole Spora, Joycelyn Job, and June Weston. Auditor is Joy Marchant and on newsletter deliveries are Elaine Gilmour and Anne Smith. The returning president Pat Thompson welcomed everyone and thanked all members for accepting their positions. Jeff Marks proposed the toast to Probus International which was started by Rotary International more than 40 years ago.
Shirley Mudford was honoured to become our patron. She proposed the toast to King Charles III and thanked members, telling us some of the history of PROBUS Club. Thirty-two members enjoyed a time of fellowship followed by a delicious roast pork meal and yummy sweets. Thank you to all staff members at the Gilgandra Services Club for the excellent meals and hospitality. Thanks also to Shirley Marks for her photography.
Probus welcomes new members, both men and women and meets monthly at the club. I encourage people to consider joining and you will find it an enjoyable outing, meeting old friends, and meeting new people.
