Gilgandra Panthers planning for 2026
Gilgandra Panthers have started planning for a brighter 2026 after holding its annual general meeting (AGM) recently.

The AGM on Sunday, November 2 resulted in Damien Jordan being elected as president.
Former president Shane Byrne remains on the committee in another previous role of secretary.
Trevor Murray (senior vice-president), Tobey Creenaune (junior vice-president), Laura Jordan (treasurer and publicity officer) are the other key office bearers with Ned Kelly, Chloe Ickinger, Chris Fuller, John Gilman, Murray Stewart, Peter Hazelton, Doug Batten, Brian Collison, and Bryson Luff being elected to the general committee.
Gilgandra Rugby League Football Club said via social media that it is looking forward to a brighter 2026. “Following what was a challenging year for the Gilgandra Panthers, all those involved in the 2025 season and the Ladies League Tag team should be thanked and congratulated on their commitment to the club,” the club said.
“The Gilgandra Panthers Senior Rugby League Club look forward to seeing you all in 2026.”
The club has also announced coaches in men’s first grade and youth league for next year.
Tyler Bamblett and David Smith have been named as men’s first grade coaches in a boost for the Panthers.
Luke Ritchie, who coached league tag in 2025 with Shane Byrne, will mentor the youth league side.
The ladies league tag position has been re-advertised after no applications were received.
Gilgandra will begin training later this week.
