Wednesday’s social bowls

On Wednesday, October 21, there were nine bowlers for social bowls.

Jim L’Homme, Garry Garbutt (swinger) and Barry Johnson defeated Jill Hankins, Garry Garbutt and Bob Rogers 20-11 in a triples match.

The second game was pairs with Dave Jones and Parky playing against Mike Newstead and Larry Clarke.

Regional Mixed Pairs

Across the weekend (Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25) we had four teams participating in the Regional Mixed Pairs competition played at Dubbo City Bowling Club.

Unfortunately the draw had Jill Hankins and Wenden Riley playing our local team of Noel and Jo Raines. Jill and Wenden suffered a loss here.

Danial and Tracey Riley played very well and had two wins as did the Raines team they both qualified for Sunday’s round of semi-finals.

David Jones and Stacey Reynolds played three games on the day but unfortunately they were playing basketball, not bowls, and did not fare very well over their three games.

Danial and Tracey played a wonderful game on Sunday and lost to eventual winners Nathan Collis and Hayley Sharpe from West Dubbo Club they lost by one point on the last end.

Next to take on Nathan and Haley were the team of Noel and Joe Raines who succumbed to the eventual champions as well.

Well done for your efforts in completing in the regional finals.

Sunday’s social bowls

On Sunday, October 25, six hardy social bowlers braved the elements and managed to play nine ends before the skies opened.

Coming up

Next Saturday at 1.00pm the finals of the club championships singles will be played featuring Noel Raines and Trevor Breise. Blake Cook and Dylan Marchant also feature in A-grade, the winners of the two semi-finals progressing to the final.

Tracey Riley plays Blake Cook to contest the B-grade championship final. Good luck to all.
