Gilgandra Golf Club is set to test your sport knowledge this Saturday, October 10 with their inaugural trivia and auction night to raise money for the club.
The night will see 10 dedicated rounds of sport trivia covering everything from rugby league, to the olympics, to tennis, and of course, golf as well.
Matt Zell will be joined by David Bonnington as quiz master.
“Make sure to brush up on your trivia knowledge,” said Matt.
“It’s going to be a fun night, with trivia questions for everyone to enjoy.
“We hope to see you there on Saturday,” Matt said.
The strong sport theme will continue into the auction items, with specially signed sport paraphernalia up for grabs including a team signed cricket bat from Ricky Ponting, a 300 NRL games signed jumper with signatures from some of NRL’s finest players, and more.
Tim Wiggins will lead the auction, with four items in total up for grabs.
All the excitement of an auction and trivia is bound to work up an appetite, for which Takeaway on Castlereagh’s food truck will be there to offer a fix with a range of freshly cooked food for all to enjoy.
The Club’s bar will also be open on the night.
Matt Zell said the inspiration for a trivia night was to help raise money for the upkeep of the club house, but to also bring people together to enjoy what the club has to offer.
“We’re really trying to raise the profile of the club,” Matt said.
“We’ve had some really good interest in [the trivia night], and we’re hoping to continue having more events over at the club house.
“It will be a great night for the whole family to enjoy, so please come along and book a table,” said Matt.
All money raised on the night will go towards the future of the Club.
