Gilgandra Golf Club Results
Veterans, Saturday’s 18-hole Stableford and Sunday’s first round of the Drumtochy Cup.
Veterans
On Thursday, May 15, the veterans played a nine-hole stroke. The winner was Ken Williams with a 30 nett. Second place went to Rob Hay with a 32 nett, from Lex Scotti and Gil Riley who all had 32 nett. John McWhirter won the nearest the pin.
The average ball went to Maree Townsend. Least amount of putts went to Gil Riley from Ken Williams and Nick White.
Saturday’s 18-hole Stableford
On Saturday, May 17, we played an 18- hole stableford, sponsored by Gilgandra Pharmacy.
Eighteen golfers took part in the day including two new players to the club. The winner was Stan Doyle with 40 points. Bruce Rodway came in second with 37 points. Coming in third with 36 points was Rob Hay.
We had three golfers who all had 35 points for the round , they were Nick White, Maree Townsend, and Lyle Horwood. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin was won by Quentin Karaitiana.
Matchplay result: Stan Doyle 2 and 1 defeated Rob Hay.
Sunday’s first round of the Drumtochy Cup
On Sunday (May 18) we had 27 golfers who played the first round of the Drumtochy Cup.
The winner was Todd Meyers on a countback from Warwick Cross , both golfers had a nett 67.
We had four players who had a nett 68, they were Bill Welsh, Lyle Horwood, Graeme Holland, and Dylan Wright.
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin winners were: 2/11- Ian Dent, 4/13 - Lyle Horwood, and 7/16 - Russell Anderson.
Matchplay results for Sunday: Todd Meyers and Stan Doyle 2 and 1 defeated Ian Dent and Graeme Holland. Graeme Holland 5 and 3 defeated Russell Anderson.
