Gilgandra Golf Club Report - March 5-7, 2026
It was another busy week on the fairways at Gilgandra Golf Club.

Veterans
On Thursday afternoon, March 5, we had 12 golfers who played a nine-hole stroke.
The winner on the day was Bob Dwyer with a 32 1/2 nett. Maree Townsend came in second with a 34 nett. Third place went to Andy Harris with a 34 1/2 nett.
Nearest the pin went to Maree Townsend. Rob Hay won the average ball.
Least amount of putts went to Bob Dwyer with 12 putts for his round.
Weekend Events
On Saturday, March 7, we played the monthly medal, which is a stroke event.
We had 24 players on the day.
The Garry Johnston Memorial Monthly Medal winner for March is Ike Morris.
Ike had a 66 nett for his round. Warwick Cross came in second with a 66 nett, with Andy Harris came in third (68 nett). Russell Anderson came in fourth with 70 nett.
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin winners: 2/11 - Ike Morris; 4/13 - Rob Hay; and 7/16 - Todd Meyers.
Match Play results:
Todd Meyers 2 and 1 defeated Rob Hay.
John McWhirter 2 and 1 defeated Ken Williams.
Bob Dwyer 2-up defeated Tony Wilson
Russell Anderson 3 and 1 defeated Ian Lambell.
Ike Morris 5 and 4 defeated Jacob Wilson.
Nick White 5 and 4 defeated Nick Wright.
On Sunday, March 8, we had 16 golfers who played an 18-hole par.
The winner was Geoff Lummis, our club captain with an even-par round.
Second place went to Tony Wilson with minus one (-1). Third place was won by Mark Barwick on a countback from four other players, they all had minus two (-2) .
Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Tony Wilson.
Match Play result: Adam Hazleton defeated Mark Barwick on the 20th hole.
