Gilgandra Golf Club News
There was plenty of quality golf played at Gilgandra Golf Club across the festive period.

Welcome back to the New Year of golf.
Here are the results for the holiday break.
Veterans, December 18: we had 10 vets on the day. The winner was Lex Scotti with a 29 1/2 nett. Second place went to Mark Barwick with 31 1/2 nett. Coming in third was Maree Townsend with a 33 1/2 nett. Maree also won the nearest the pin. Rob Hay won the Average ball and the least number of putts with 10 for his round.
Saturday, December 20: we played an 18-hole Stableford which was sponsored by John and Kim McWhirter. We had 17 players on the day. First place was won by Ian Ferguson with 41 points. Second place went to Russell Anderson on a countback from Lyle Horwood, both players had 37 points. Nearest the pin winners were: 2/11 - Mark Barwick, 4/13 - Warwick Cross, 7/16 - Ian Ferguson.
Sunday, December 21: we had 13 golfers who played an 18-hole Stableford. The winner was Glen Wade with 37 points on a countback from Matt Zell who had the same score. Rob Hay came in third with 35 points.
Saturday, December 27: we had 18 golfers who played an 18-hole Stableford. The winner was Lyle Horwood with 36 points. Ash Hazleton came in second on a countback from Lex Scotti , both players had 35 points. Don Milgate came in fourth with 34 points. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin was won by Lyle Horwood.
Sunday, December 28: we had 11 players who contested an 18-hole Par. The winner was Graeme Holland with plus five (+5). Luke Johnston came second with plus four (+4). Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Luke Johnston.
Saturday, January 3: we had 23 golfers who played in the Victory Lap Sports Monthly Medal. The winner for January Is Bob Dwyer who had a 63 nett. Mark Barwick came in second on a countback from Quentin Karaitiana who both had a 68 nett. Ash Hazleton came in fourth with 69 nett. With a score of 70 nett, Matt Zell came fifth. Gil. Toyota nearest the pin winners were: 2/11 - Dean Ferguson, both 4/13 and 7/16 was Ash Hazleton.
Sunday, January 4: we had a very small field of seven players who played in an 18-hole Stableford. The winner was Ken Williams with 43 points. Ed Wlodarczyk came in second from Maree Townsend both players had 38 points. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin was won by Maree Townsend.
Saturday, January 10: we played an 18-hole Par, with 17 golfers taking part. The winner was Quentin Karaitiana with a plus one (+1). Ike Morris came in second with an even score for his round. Rob Hay came third from Jacob Wilson and Adam Hazleton who all had minus one (-1).
Sunday, January 11: we had 16 golfers who played in an 18-hole Stableford. The winner was Ash Hazelton with 41 points for his round. Ian Bigwood came in second with 38 points. Coming in third was Rob Hay with 37 points. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin was won by Adam Hazleton.
Welcome back to the veterans, who started the new year on Thursday, January 15 . We had 11 vets on the day. The winner was Jim L'Homme with 32 1/2 nett from Lex Scotti who had the same score. John McWhirter came in third with 34 nett . Nearest the pin was won by Maree Townsend. Average ball went to Bob Dwyer. Least number of putts was won by Graeme Holland with 12 for his round.
Saturday, January 17: we had a great field of 25 golfers who played an 18-hole Stableford. The winner was Ian Lambell with 40 points. Jarryd Eason came in second with 38 points. Ayrton Holland came third on a countback from Graeme Holland both players had 37 points. Lex Scotti had 36 points to come in fifth. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Tony Wilson as he came within 1.9 metres of the hole.
Sunday, January 18: we played an 18-hole Stableford with 10 golfers taking part on the day. The winner was Tony Wilson with 38 points. Coming in second was Adam Hazleton with 37 points. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Lex Scotti.
