Last Thursday, March 28, we had 11 veterans who played a stroke event.

Last Thursday, March 28, we had 11 veterans who played a stroke event. The winner was John Newham with a 31 nett. Rob Hay came in second with a 32 nett. Geoff Lummis came in third with a nett 34. Peter Holland won the nearest the pin. Mark Barwick won the average ball. Rob Hay won the least amount of putts with 12 for his round.

Martin Clift Memorial On Good Friday, we had 23 teams of four golfers, which is a grand total of 92 golfers play our annual Martin Clift Memorial four-person Ambrose. Coming in first place for the fourth time were the father and son team of Geoff and Allan Lummis and Mark and Aiden Hinchcliffe, who had a score of 55 4/8 nett. Second place went to Graeme, Peter and Aryton Holland and Ashley Hazelton with 56 5/8 nett. Third place was won by the team of Ed Wlodarczyk, Jim and M L’Homme and Nick White with 57 2/8 nett. Ian Ferguson, Warwick Lean, D Saunders, and P Mackay came fourth with 57 3/8 nett.

Nearest the pin winners: 2/11 - Mel Clift. 4/13 -Col Sinclair. 7/16 - Allan Lummis. A big thank you goes to the family of Martin Clift for putting the day every year, which has been going on for 23 years so far.

Saturday’s Stableford On Saturday we had 17 golfers play an 18-hole stableford. The winner was Aiden Lummis with 41 points. Second place was won by Ash Hazelton with 37 points. Andy Harris came in third with 35 points. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Andy Harris.

Sunday’s Par On Easter Sunday, we played an 18-hole par with nine golfers playing the event. Coming in first was Geoff Lummis with +2. Second place went to Rob Hay with an even round. The Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin went to Bill Welsh.

Easter Monday On Monday, we had 20 players contest an 18-hole stableford. The winner was Stan Doyle with 39 points. Second place was won by Ash Hazelton with 36 points. Todd Meyers came in third on a countback from Matt Zell; both players had 34 points. Geoff Lummis won the Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin.

Matchplay results: Matt Zell and Ike Morris three and two, defeated Andy Harris and John McWhirter. Lyle Horwood one up, defeated Ed Wlodarczyk.
