The Gilgandra Garden Club held their annual general meeting on Thursday, March 7, with 27 members in attendance. Outgoing president Joycelyn Job presented her annual report, highlighting the successful Open Gardens event held on October 14, 2023. A donation from the funds raised was presented to the Country Education Foundation of Gilgandra and District. A presentation was also made to Mrs. Job to recognize her service to the garden club, particularly her role as president. She has served as president for a total of nine years, with her last term being five years.

Elections were held for the new committee with Sandra Lawford elected president, Marion Schulz re-elected as secretary - serving her fifth term - and Jeanette Cruickshank re-elected as treasurer, having held the position for 10 years plus.

If you are a passionate gardener or even a newbie to gardening, the garden club meets monthly and other meetings/outings are held in the gardens of members throughout the year, so we get to enjoy the fruits of labour and gain lots of knowledge from our garden club members. The Geoff Rohr Rose Garden in Miller Street is maintained by the club members, and a working bee in this garden is also conducted monthly, to keep the roses looking their best. New members are always welcome.
