There were 20 bowlers for social bowls last Wednesday. The winners with the lowest winning margin were Jeff Jones, James Rogers, and Garry Garbutt who defeated The Godber brothers, being Phil and Dave, Mike Newstead, and Rod Howchin, 18-13. In other games, Trevor Johnson, Paul Morris, and Barry Johnson had a win against Jim L’Homme, David Jones, and Jayden Doran, 21-14. Bob Rogers and Dylan Marchant defeated Ed Wlodarczyk and Mal Altmann, 22-15. Christine Howchin and Bruce Parker defeated Stacey Reynolds and Shayne Barwick, 24-9.

A great turn out of bowlers for the Easter Sunday ‘funday’ bowls with 22 bowlers playing. The very happy winners were Theo (‘Frenchy’), Bob Rogers, and Rambo Young who defeated Andrew Townsend, Wenden Riley, and Rod Howchin, 22-11. This was Theo’s first game of bowls and what better skip could he have ever played with than Rambo, in giving him great guidance and encouragement. Because of this, Theo received the ‘player of the day award’ for playing very consistent bowls. Second place went to Maxine and Paul Elsom who had a win against Christine Howchin and ‘Sharky’ Marchant, 22-12. Norm Lummis, Shayne Barwick, and Leroy Gregory defeated Dave Gregory, Jayden Doran, and Baden Fisher, 20-9. Sharon Barwick (also having her first game), Bruce Parker, and Dylan Marchant defeated Trista Raines, Bob Dicks, and Fox Raines, 17–15. The highlight of this game was when the ‘super sub’ Shirley Barwick filled in for Trista’s absence for a few ends. Well done Shirl!

After the bowls was over and the music started, Bruce Parker won the ‘singer of the day award’ for his rendition of ‘The Green Green Grass of Home’. A great day was had by all. Pennant bowls will commence this Sunday with grade five playing in Baradine with the bus leaving the club at 9am sharp. On this bus will hopefully be, Rambo, Barry J, Rod H, Maxine, Fox, Duffy, Blake C, Jo, Norm L, Brent McK, Mouse, and Mal A. At home to play Gulgong in grade seven will be, Gil R, Bob Dicks, Larry Clark, Shayne B, Baden, Jayden, Ted S, Stacey, Tommy L, Wenden, Parky, and Andrew T.
