Flamin’ Galahs to hit bootcamp in New Year
Flamin’ Galahs coach Greg King is assembling a squad of ladies for a fun-filled weekend of drills and exercises, along with plenty of downtime for refreshments and swimming, a must.

The 2026 Tri Tag Western Plains women’s rugby season pre-season training will kick off in January 2026, for the ladies of the Flamin’ Galahs when they head off for a weekend boot camp.
“The weekend will be our first time getting together so, I want to assure the group that this will be nothing too exhausting. It is a chance to catch up and have a bit of fun, and start planning for the season ahead,” coach Greg King said.
“This is also a call out for any players thinking of having a go at tri tag rugby for the first time in 2026 to come along for the weekend and have some fun and get to know the playing group. It will be very informal and lots of laughs.” If any potential players are interested in learning more about the bootcamp or becoming involved with the 2026 Flamin Galahs playing group, please contact coach King. Pre-season training for the club as a whole will begin in mid-January with a Friday training session at Ernie Knight Oval before finishing up with a refreshment or two at the Railway Hotel.
Furthermore, the Gulargambone Rugby Club are gearing up for a massive year, recently revealing the new committee and coaching staff who will be steering the club through the season ahead next year.
With a strong blend of returning experience and fresh enthusiasm, the club is setting its sights high.
For the men’s and women’s side, the goal is clear, to be competitive, fit, well-drilled and ready to challenge every town they come up against.
Check out an upcoming edition of the The Gilgandra Weekly pre-Christmas for the full story on the new committee and structure ahead of the 2026.
