BEST OF 2025: First week of 2025 Gil Golf Club championships
Veterans and Club Championships.
Veterans
On Thursday, September 11, we played a nine-hole stroke. The winner was Geoff Lummis with a 341/2 nett. Second place went to Maree Townsend with 35 nett. Rob Hay came in third with 36 nett. Andy Harris won the average ball. Geoff also won the least amount of putts.
Club Championships
On Saturday, September 13, we played the first round of the 2025 Club Championships, with 36 golfers playing on the day.
The winner on the day was Nic Kirsop with nett 35. Second place went to Ike Morris with 67 nett. Third was Jarryd Eason who also had 67 nett.
Bill Welsh came in fourth with 68 nett ahead of Stan Doyle and Mark Barwick who also had 68 nett. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin winners: 2/11 - Bill Welsh. 4/13 - Nick White. 7/16 - Jarryd Eason.
The Matchplay final was also played on Saturday. Ian Ferguson 6 and 5 defeated Dylan Wright.
On Sunday, September 14, we had 29 players who played the second round of the championships.
First place went to Graeme Holland with 65 nett. Second place went to Nick Wright on a countback from Mick Wilson and Tiger Pearce and Ash Hazleton who all had 67 nett.
