Dollar for Dusty Update
Halfway point reached for Dusty and his team
Dusty and his team have officially made it halfway though their 500km walk to Canberra, arriving in Boorowa on Wednesday, September 9.
The 12-year-old from Warren has taken the nation by storm, garnering attention from professional football clubs, to businesses, politicians, and even famous Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth.
Dusty has raised a total of $313,233 31 per cent of his goal to reach one million.
Dusty is joined by a strong crew including his mum, CEO of Little Wings, Clare Pearson, and other volunteers to help him make it to the Prime Minister's door.
While stopped on Cowra, Dusty was met by fellow Little Wings fundraiser, Rose Donald, who was the youngest female pilot to fly solo around Australia and raised $70,000 for the organisation.
The two wasted no time in taking to the skies, Rose offering a different perspective and flying an aircraft similar to the one that many kids are in when taken to specialist medical care.
Dusty has 150km to go before he reaches Canberra, where he will have a meeting with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to ask him to match, dollar for dollar, the money he has raised for the organisation.
Dusty will meet with the Prime Minister on Tuesday, September 15.
Dollar for Dusty is calling for communities to come together and raise as much money as they can to help them reach their goal.
