Christmas in July Trivia at Curban
There was lots of Christmas cheer at Curban Hall on Saturday, July 25, 2026

There may have been a winter chill outside, but Curban Community Hall was filled with warmth, laughter and Christmas spirit when locals gathered for a Christmas in July Trivia Night.
From the moment guests arrived, the festive atmosphere was evident. Santa hats were predominant, the stage was adorned with a beautiful winter Christmas scene, and friendly banter flowed as teams settled in for the evening.
Quizmaster Lester Thurston kept the trivia light-hearted and entertaining, ensuring plenty of laughs while testing everyone's general knowledge. In addition, competitors were treated to fun activities that proved just as entertaining as the quiz itself.
One of the night's highlights was the paper aeroplane competition. While some carefully crafted aircraft barely made it beyond their owners' feet and others took hook-shot trajectories, David Bonnington's expertly launched plane flew unwaveringly straight the full length of the hall, earning him a well-deserved victory.
Festive fashion also came under the spotlight, with Claire Harvey and Neville Younghusband taking out the prize for Best Christmas Outfits. Both fully embraced their inner Christmas elf, gaining the “winner by acclamation” applause.
No Curban Hall event would be complete without exceptional food, and once again the hall committee's cooks exceeded expectations. The beautifully presented nibbles on each table would not have looked out of place at a luxury resort, while the delicious supper was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate.
By the end of the evening it was clear the Curban Community Hall Committee had achieved exactly what it had set out to do—provide a relaxed, welcoming night where friends and neighbours could enjoy plenty of laughter, good food and fun, with trivia thrown in for good measure.
Judging by the smiles as people headed home, Christmas in July Trivia Night was another memorable success for the Curban Hall Committee.
