During the third week of March 2026, Gilgandra will host a series of events designed to bring people together through music, expression and community connection. Who is Chris James?
Chris James is a renowned musician, singer and voice coach whose work centres on the power of voice, sound and expression. With more than 30 years’ experience working internationally, he has developed a unique, engaging style that helps people reconnect with their natural voice - whether for singing, speaking, communicating or simply being heard.
His philosophy is that everyone is born with a voice capable of expression and connection. Through his work, Chris encourages people to move beyond self-judgment and rediscover confidence, authenticity and joy through sound and song.
A Week of Music, Confidence and Connection
School sessions will feature Chris’s Vocal Adventure for Schools — interactive, whole-school experiences designed to support confidence, listening skills, teamwork and the joy of singing together.
A special Men’s Night will invite men from across the region — including SES, RFS, Men’s Shed members, farmers, business owners and dads — to come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment. No singing experience is required.
The week will culminate in a whole-of-community evening, bringing together children, teens, adults, elders, families, schools, choirs, community groups and visitors for a shared experience of voice and connection.
More Than Music
Beyond performance, Chris James’s work highlights the wellbeing benefits of voice and community. His workshops and community singing events are known for reducing stress, strengthening connection and creating a strong sense of belonging.
Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for the week of March 16, 2026 and stay tuned for further updates.
