Chris clocks up 30 years at Rohrs
Chris Riley celebrates 30 years at Rohrs in Gilgandra

Chris Riley, manager of local businesses Rohr's, recently celebrated 30 years with the company.
Last week, he and the team celebrated his 30-year commitment with a cake and a few words.
Lester Thurston of the Tooraweenah Trading branch, spoke about Chris' time with the Rohr family businesses.
He said Chris started at Rohr's on March 11, 1996, and that he has held many roles within the business during his time.
"He was doing book work, hidden away in the office downstairs," said Lester. "Chris has many other qualities and the Rohr family could see potential in this young man. At that time the business was run as one store, as it was growing fast it was decided to separate it into a hardware store [now Rohr's Home Timber and Hardware] and a rural merchandise store [G K and LH Rohr].
"After the hardware shop was renovated and upgraded, Chris was made manager of that section," said Lester.
"While at Rohrs, Chris married Kerry, had three children and devoted a lot of time to the local community to areas like the SES and is always available to assist others.
"He is often too busy to answer his phone but will always get back to you. We wish you well in your future career serving the people of Gilgandra and district," said Lester.
Chris also said a few words to mark the special career milestone.
"I’d like to thank the Rohr family for giving me a chance 30-years-ago; which honestly doesn’t feel that long ago," he said.
"I remember turning up to the interview on crutches thinking I had no chance, but 30 years later I must have done alright.
"It’s been a privilege working for a family-owned business that truly looks after its staff. Thank you to the Rohr family, my staff, our customers and the wider community for your support over the past 30 years."
