CHC launches bike hire service

Gilgandra’s Coo-ee Heritage and Visitor Information Centre (CHC) new bike hire service will launch this week ahead of the Easter long weekend. The launch of the new activation was developed in line with the objectives of Gilgandra Shire Council’s Gilgandra Cultural Precinct (GCP) Strategic Plan, Community Strategic Plan, Activation Blueprint, and Active Transport Strategy and in collaboration with council’s Economic Development Committee. The service aims to provide an alternative method of transportation, linking Gilgandra’s key assets and activations between the GCP and CBD, bolstering the visitor economy. Four adult bikes, four children’s bikes, and one baby seat will be available for hire.

Acting activation and communication manager, Merscia Kouroulis said council is excited to launch the bike hire service at the CHC. “The introduction of eight new bikes seeks to elevate sustainable travel along the Windmill Walk and within Gilgandra, enhancing the experience for locals and visitors, showcasing the Region as a great place to Visit, Explore and Stay!” “The bikes are another welcomed addition to services on offer at the CHC, complementing the introduction of the EV Chargers. These new sustainable travel options present addition exciting opportunities for within our Region for our tourism, hospitality, and local businesses to capitalise on.”
