Changed traffic conditions on the Newell Highway north of Gilgandra
Road users are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Newell Highway north of Gilgandra for essential pavement maintenance from Monday, August 4, 2025.
Work will include maintenance and repair of three small sections of highway from one kilometre south of the northbound Biddon Rest Area and moving towards Tap Hill.
Work hours will be 7am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and work is expected to be completed in one week, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions including single lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during work hours.
The speed limit will be 60 km/h outside of work hours and will return to the posted speed limit when work is complete.
Oversized over mass (OSOM) vehicles should contact traffic control on channel 29 via UHF in the area for safe passage through the work site.
Road users are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the directions of signs and traffic control, and allow up to 10 minutes of additional travel time.
