Changed traffic conditions on the Castlereagh Highway at Gulargambone
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Castlereagh Highway for essential bridge maintenance work at Gulargambone from Monday, November 24, 2025.
Work at the bridge over Gulargambone Creek, just north of the intersection with Bourbah Street, includes placing large rocks underneath the bridge to provide protection against scouring and erosion.
Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturday, if needed. The work will take up to three weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions including single lane closures, intermittent stopping and a reduced speed of 40 km/h will be in place during work hours for the safety of workers and motorists.
The speed limit will return to the posted speed outside of work hours.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the directions of signs and traffic control, and allow up to five minutes of extra travel time.
