Wednesday Social Bowls
The winners on Wednesday were J Doran, J L'Homme and Bob R, winning on the lowest winning margin. They had a 12-all draw with Rod, Parky, and Steve.
In the other game, Gary, Ed, and Jill defeated Mouse, Mike, and Mal 25–12.
Sunday Social Bowls
Sunday's winners were Mal, Norm, and Jayden, winning with the most ends, defeating Dylan, Baden and Peg 19–15.
In the other birthday game, Wendon, Maxine, and Michelle defeated Shaun, Tracey, and Shane 20–15.
Triples Final
The Triples Final has been played with Fox, Harry, and Jo Raines playing Dylan Marchant, Rod Howchin, and Bob Rogers.
In a thrilling final, the Marchant-led team stunned the favourites early, playing superb bowls to lead 13–5. However, the Raines team responded with 14 shots over six consecutive ends to take a 19–13 lead after the 12th end. They then extended the margin to 23–15 on the 17th end before dropping nine shots, allowing Dylan's side to move back in front by one shot with one end to play.
Both leads and seconds left plenty of room on the last end as nerves creeping in. Dylan led by one shot on the scoreboard and held two shots on the last end up to the skips. With his first bowl Fox played his first bowl punching up a handy bowl to within a metre of the jack to claim a shot.
The game was a tie at the moment. With Dylan's last bowl falling six-inches short of shot bowl and a narrow bowl with his last, Fox drew the shot bowl to come to within a shot for one bowl to come to win the Title and drew the shot needed for a 25–24 win in a thrilling game.
Congratulations to both teams on putting on a fantastic display for a large crowd.
Pairs Championships
The A Pairs is underway with the Raines Brothers defeating Jo and Parky 24–11, with Jo playing great bowls for a long layoff.
In other game played, Riles and Duff def Stacey and Dave 27–16.
The A /B Pairs games need to be played asap.
