Eleven bowlers enjoyed social bowls last Wednesday, June 3. The winners with the highest winning margin was the Noel Raines team who defeated the Garry Harvey (Glenbrook) team, 12-8.

The remaining game resulted in Bob Rogers, Mal Altmann (swinger) and Garry Garbutt defeating Bruce Parker and Gil Riley, 12-11.

Weekend bowls

There were 14 bowlers for social bowls on Sunday, June 7. The winners of the afternoon were, Brent McKenzie, Mouse Holland and Dylan Marchant who defeated Danial Riley, Jayden Doran and Wenden Riley, 19-11.

The star of this game was Dylan who played terrific bowls. Dylan even admitted that was the case which is a big call coming from a bowler who never brags about his bowling ability.

A bit of a letdown came for Dylan come Monday though, when his mighty Eels bit the dust against the lucky Bulldogs.

In other games Dave Stockings and Shayne Barwick played very well in defeating a couple of gun bowlers being Bruce Parker and Mal Altmann, 13-12.

Dave Jones and Shaun Marchant defeated Michele Barwick and Tracey Riley, 15-14. Michele played some great bowls in this match.

Raines travel to classic pairs

The Raines brothers, Garry and Fox travelled to Bourke for the classic pairs over the weekend. The lads did make it to quarter finals but that’s where it all ended in going down 20-13.
