Social Bowls

Fourteen bowlers enjoyed a game of social bowls last Wednesday April 16. The winners with the lowest winning score were James L’Homme and Mal Altmann, who defeated Harmony Raines and Bruce Parker, 13-12.

In other games Ed Wlodarczyk, and Mali (visitor) defeated Mike Newstead and Rod Howchin, 21-10. Larry Clark, Dave Jones, and Gil Riley defeated Bob Rogers, Garry Garbutt and Jayden Doran, 20-11.

Sunday’s ( April 20) social bowls had 16 starters. The very deserving winners of the afternoon were Leroy Gregory, Maxine Elsom, and Danial Riley.

They defeated Rambo and a couple more imported players being daughter Kelly from Dubbo and Mick from Mendooran, with the score being 27-9. Rambo’s excuse was the greens and also his team didn’t have any luck. Other than that they might of won. The runners-up, who won the Easter eggs, were Rod Howchin and David Duffy who defeated Steve (Mendooran) and George Tincknell (visitor) 22-9.

In the remaining game, the win went to Dave Stockings, Baden Fisher, and Spek (visitor) over Tracey Riley, Jayden Doran, and Norm Lummis, 16-13.

Easter bowls on the road

Eight Gilgandra bowlers played at Macquarie Club, Dubbo on Good Friday, while six bowlers played at Coonabarabran on Easter Sunday. No results to hand so it is presumed that there weren’t any claims to fame or too many prizes brought back to town. All I did hear from a reliable source, was that Evan Kew played great bowls on the Friday in Dubbo.

Bowlers to please check the notice board for the Triples Championships draw.
